Second CRUE communiqué on the escalation of war in Israel and Palestine
Madrid, 18 December 2023. The Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) expressed in a communiqué issued on the 17th October its concern and rejection of the escalation of war in the Middle East as a result of the events of recent days in Israel and Palestine. As a university system, we reaffirm our commitment to peace, justice, human rights, and democratic values, contrary to any war or terrorist act
Crue recognises EUA’s institutional trajectory on the Digital Transformation in universities
29 November, 2023. Valladolid. Crue Spanish Universities, through its Sectorial Commission for Digitalisation, has recognised the European University Association with the 2023 Institutional Trajectory Award for its “clear effort to highlight the importance of Digital Transformation in universities, through the creation of the steering committee and the advisory group, in which Crue has been involved, as well as the organisation of related workshops”.
Second edition of ConSIMium: six Spanish students to step into the shoes of European leaders
Madrid, 21 November 2023. Six Spanish university students have been selected by Crue Spanish Universities to participate in the second edition of the ConSIMium project of the Council of the European Union, to be held in April 2024 in Brussels. This initiative consists of a simulation exercise in which 27 teams from the Member States of the European Union experience first-hand how their leaders negotiate and the decision-making process in Europe.
Crue will meet Maria Leptin, President of the European Research Council (ERC)

Crue initiates the work on reforming academic career assessment within CoARA
On the 27th October 2023, Crue Spanish Universities participated in the kickoff event of the working group on reforming Academic Career Assessment (ACA), led by the European University Association (EUA) and the Young Academy of Europe (YAE).
