Meeting with France Universités at the Universidad del País Vasco

Crue’s President, Prof. Juan Romo, met Prof. Manuel Tunon de Lara, President of France Universités, on Monday 24th October at the Gipuzkoa Campus of the Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU), with the aim of reinforcing the bilateral relationship between the two associations.

During the meeting, they addressed the participation of French and Spanish universities in the European Universities initiative; the role of university institutions as engines of innovation in the territories in which they are located, within the framework of the new European Agenda for Innovation; the collaboration between the European rectors’ conferences through the EUA, or the coordination between both associations with a view to the next Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2023.

President Romo was accompanied in this meeting by Crue’s Vice President and Rector of the UPV/EHU, Eva Ferreira; Crue’s Deputy Vice President, José María Sanz, who intervened remotely; and the Secretary General, María Teresa Lozano. On behalf of France Universités, President Tunon de Lara was accompanied by the permanent delegate of France Universités in Brussels and President of the French network Euraxess, Carle Bonafous-Murat, and the Rector of the Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès and President of the international and European relations commission of France Universités, Emmanuelle Garnier, who also participated online.
